SUMMARY:"Dry Cleaning for Hygienic Equipment" and "Allergen Control Strategies"
DESCRIPTION:Register for the webinar here \nFrom 3-A: \nDry Cleaning for Hygienic Equipment \nMonty Bohanan\, Leprino Foods \nFood safety from a microbiological perspective in dry dairy powder operations is dependent on minimizing water introduction into the environment and equipment – even during cleaning. Removing soils without the benefit of water nor wet chemistry presents efficacy and efficiency challenges. This is even more of a challenge for food safety from an allergen clean perspective. Sanitary Design can help ensure effective cleaning in dry clean only applications\, especially if the design considers the limitations and objectives for cleaning without water. An understanding of why a “war on water” is critical to food safety in dry clean only applications will promote good sanitary design. \nAllergen Control Strategies \nDr. Joe Baumert\, University of Nebraska \nFood allergens account for a significant proportion of recalled food products in the U.S. each year. Labeling/packaging errors and the unintended presence of allergen residues from cross-contact were mentioned in FSMA as two primary causes of food allergen related recalls. Development of an allergen control program which incorporates both cGMPs and preventive controls for food allergens is required per 21 CFR 117; however\, regulatory guidance document for the industry on food allergen control is pending. This presentation will provide a high-level overview of allergen control considerations with an emphasis on operational controls and cleaning strategies. \nRegister here.

SUMMARY:Expediting the Process for FDA Imports
DESCRIPTION:Register for the webinar here \nFrom TraceGains: \n\nWith more than 195 countries managing imports and exports across the global supply chain\, introducing food and beverages into the United States comes with its own unique set of FDA regulations. Understanding and adhering to the regulations for each country can trigger knowledge gaps and spawn uncertainty. Do you need to focus on direct U.S. imports? Employing a holistic import strategy can ensure your goods arrive on time. \n\n\nBut questions often linger that can trip up even the most experienced importers: \n\n\n\nWhat happens if authorities detain your product?\nWhat if there’s a last-minute import alert?\nWhat if authorities refuse your product?\nAre you up to speed on the PREDICT program?\n\n\n\nThese questions are just the tip of the iceberg. \n\n\nIf you’re bringing goods into the United States\, you’ll want to attend this webinar to help shore up your strategy by learning more about the challenges\, pitfalls\, and detention risks. In addition\, leveraging technology to filter alerts specific to your products\, your partner’s products\, or even specific locations can help you make lightning-fast decisions that can salvage your bottom line. \n\n\nDean Leaman and Angel Suarez will lead this discussion. The pair boast combined experience covering international imports and exports\, advisory knowledge of FDA Detention Without Physical Examination (DWPE)\, import enforcement in seafood and Low-Acid Canned Food (LACF)\, and distinguished authorships\, including the FDA Certified Better Process Control School\, among others. The shared proficiency provides unfettered access to answers to questions you might not have even asked yet about FDA food imports. \nRegister here.

SUMMARY:Leveraging AI to Create a Safer Workplace Environment
DESCRIPTION:Register for the webinar here \nFrom EHS Today: \nIndustrial workplaces remain one of the most high-risk work environments as they routinely require their employees to work with various equipment and dynamic conditions.  The ability to predict serious injury and fatality (SIF) risks before an incident occurs is essential to create a robust safety management system that effectively prevents such incidents. \nMotivated by this perspective\, contemporary safety research now explores ways to accurately forecast future SIF risks and help professionals intervene in a timely manner. To do so\, safety researchers take advantage of the significant developments in computing techniques and processing power using tools like machine learning. In this presentation\, Dr. Erkal talks about the art of making predictions in the safety domain\, different safety performance metrics\, and demonstrates a predictive model that could differentiate SIF exposure from safety success given business\, project and team attributes of a workplace setting. Join us for these key takeaways: \n\nLearn how to forecast future SIF conditions to mitigate risks\nApply predictive analytics methods in safety\nUse various safety performance metrics to evaluate and optimize your safety programs\nDiscover a predictive model that could separate SIF exposure from safety success\n\nRegister here.

SUMMARY:Contract Manufacturing: Balancing Efficiency\, Quality and Profitability in Food and Beverage
DESCRIPTION:Register for the webinar here \nFrom Aptean: \nContract manufacturing has continued to grow as more and more food and beverage businesses trust third parties to help them produce quality products at scale. With a projected annual growth rate of 9.5% through 2030\, the outsourcing space has and will continue to be a major player in the food and beverage industry that sees strict traceability requirements\, small profit margins\, and shifting consumer demands. \nSucceeding as a contract manufacturer in today’s regulatory environment requires changing out products\, lines\, and packaging quickly\, maintaining strict quality standards for multiple customers and providing world class traceability capabilities. SUMMARY:Immigration Reform And Solving The Labor Shortage Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Register for the webinar here \nFrom The Conference Board: \nThe pandemic’s disruption of labor markets has collided with long-term demographic trends to pose severe challenges to the nation’s future economic health. To address immediate labor shortages as well as deficits in pipelines of future workers\, the US must refocus on increasing workforce participation and upskilling. \nHowever\, those solutions will still fall short of reaching the number of workers demanded and the skills needed for the US economy to remain competitive. The magnitude of these workforce challenges calls for a modernized US immigration policy; one that is considered as complementary to policies supporting domestic workers. \nBy attending this webcast\, you will learn and hear about: \n\nHow demographic shifts are creating long-term challenges for labor supply in the US.\nWhat policies are needed to increase US labor force participation.\nWhy the labor shortages will require an expanded immigration system.\nWhat economic role immigrant workers play and what barriers currently prevent their full integration into the US workforce.\nPolicy options for developing a comprehensive immigration policy to address the long-term challenge of labor shortages in the US.\n\nRegister here.

SUMMARY:Streamline Lab Execution for Food and Beverage Companies
DESCRIPTION:Food and beverage companies are facing major challenges to their operations and profitability while dealing with a changing workplace. Add in the existing challenges of cuisine relevance\, low R&D productivity\, increased competition and decreasing margins\, as well as non-optimized processes and compliance pressure\, and the result is unusual cost pressure and uncompetitive cycle times. \nExisting repetitive and free form testing solutions are not enough in the food and beverage environment. We will demonstrate why digital continuity is so important to succeed in this year and beyond. \nBIOVIA Perfect Lab is the only system that provides these end-to-end capabilities\, along with the underlying infrastructure and ability to implement industry standards. Food and beverage companies and others in this industry have realized this\, and are implementing BIOVIA Perfect Lab to transform their operations. \nThis webinar will dive into how BIOVIA Perfect Lab benefits food and beverage companies\, including increased efficiency\, increased compliance\, and lower total cost of ownership. \nRegister now >
