3-A SSI Withdraws 3-A Symbol Authorization for Certain Carpigiani USA Equipment

3A Sanitary Standards Inc.

McLEAN, Virginia – 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI) announces the revocation of a current 3-A Symbol license, due to the need for corrective actions for certain equipment manufactured in accordance to 3-A Sanitary Standard #24-03, Non-Coil Type Batch Pasteurizers.  The action concerns equipment manufactured by Carpigiani USA in Winston Salem, NC for the model designations ‘Pastomaster 60 and Pastomaster 120’ models listed in Certificate #3714.

The 3-A SSI action was made in accordance with provisions of the 3-A SSI Manual for Third Party Verification for 3-A Symbol Authorization, 3-A Process Certification and 3-A Replacement Parts and System Component Qualification Certificate Programs.  The company did not complete a required corrective action plan for equipment listed on the certificate following a substantiated Report of Alleged Nonconformance. The Manual  provides for Carpigiani USA to send notice of this action to all customers of record since March 17, 2019, the date of the most recent Third Party Verification (TPV) Report.

3-A SSI issues certificates of 3-A Symbol authorization to licensees that agree to meet specific conditions for use of the 3-A Symbol.  Voluntary use of the 3-A Symbol on food equipment assures processors that equipment meets sanitary standards, provides accepted criteria to equipment manufacturers for sanitary design, and establishes guidelines for uniform evaluation and compliance by sanitarians.
.
3-A SSI maintains a list of current 3-A Symbol holders on the 3-A SSI web site at https://www.3-a.org/3-A-Symbol-Certificates/-Search-Database-of-Current-Certificates.  The list of authorized Symbol holders is publicly available to assist fabricators, processors, regulatory sanitarians and other interested parties to identify the suppliers and specific types of equipment that hold a current 3-A Symbol authorization.
