Julianne White

BOSTON (September 24, 2020) – Julianne White has recently been named Vice President of Food Acquisition for The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB), the largest hunger-relief organization in New England. She will oversee all aspects of GBFB’s food acquisition including donations, purchased items, and federal and state commodities.

Joining GBFB in 2019 as Director of Project Management, she was instrumental in the food bank’s long-term strategic planning process and recently championed several new projects as part of the GBFB’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ms. White has spent the last ten years in the food industry in a variety of roles at PepsiCo, Sysco Corporation and Southeastern Grocers. She has experience in several different disciplines including global strategy, e-commerce, sales planning, and category management.

The Florida native has a B.S. in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

“Julianne has already proven to be a tremendous asset to the entire GBFB organization,” said Cheryl Schondek, GBFB’s Senior Vice President of Food Acquisition, Supply Chain and Volunteers. “With the increased demand for food due to the pandemic, we are very happy to have Julianne leading our food acquisition team as we strive to achieve our mission of ending hunger here in Eastern Massachusetts.”

“During my ten years in the food business I’ve been struck by the opportunity and responsibility we have as an industry to feed our collective communities, providing a resource that is foundational to life and wellness,” said Julianne White. “Joining The Greater Boston Food Bank has allowed me to continue pursuing this goal in an incredibly meaningful way. I admire the tireless dedication of this team and our network to serving our food insecure neighbors and am honored to be a part of the mission.”
