Iselin, New Jersey (January 6, 2022) – Daniel Dinkowitz, Senior Director of Omni-Channel Sales at Allegiance Retail Services /Foodtown received the Industry Achievement Award at the New Jersey Food Council’s Night of Distinction on December 14, 2021. “I have always looked up to the high caliber of past recipients and am so very honored to be chosen this year,” expressed Daniel on receiving the award.
The New Jersey Food Council’s annual Night of Distinction celebrates food industry executives who promote the mission of the New Jersey Food Council, have found success in the food business, and are civically engaged. At the December 2021 event, which was held virtually, Daniel Dinkowitz was recognized for all the wonderful work he has done in the industry and beyond.
Daniel started in the food business in 1969 working as a delivery boy for a Foodtown supermarket. After serving honorably in the United States Marine Corp, he returned to work in the supermarket industry. Dan, who worked in varying roles for Pathmark over 35 years, was part of the team that installed the first IBM scanners in retail supermarkets, eliminating the need for price tags; he additionally worked for Zallie ShopRites and A&P. He also had his own supermarket called Seasons Harvest. Thinking about his journey in the industry Dan said, “It’s amazing when I think about my life in the industry. I started as a delivery boy and now some fifty years later, I am Senior Director of Omni Channel Sales that involves home delivery. It’s a full circle.” Dan resides in Little Egg Harbor New Jersey with his wife Andrea and two daughters Katelyn and Samantha.
John T. Derderian, President & COO of Allegiance Retail Services, was kind enough to share a few words about Dinkowitz’s accomplishments, “It’s an honor to have such a dedicated and experienced individual on the Allegiance Retail Services team, and I am glad he has been recognized for all he does. I also wish to recognize the other two award recipients, Suzanne DelVechhio of QuickChek Corporation and Paul Patten of Wakefern Food Corporation, for their contribution to the food industry.”
