Youngest CEO in ASI’s 92 Years Takes Center Stage with a Vision for the Future of Food Safety, Announces New Face of CSQ

St. Louis, MO (January 17, 2023) ─ ASI, a farm-to-fork food safety company, announced new leadership to spearhead the company’s merger with Kiwa. Tyler Williams, former Chief Technical Officer, is succeeding Charray Williams as the company’s new CEO.

Previously, Tyler was responsible for the certification process of over 3000+ audits annually while also training and consulting major food and beverage companies around the world to help improve their food safety practices. He graduated with a master’s degree in Food Safety and Certificate in International Food Law from Michigan State University and has several professional development certifications in food defense, food fraud, preventive controls, HACCP, and lead auditor, etc.

“Tyler is incredibly passionate about food safety, and I’m proud to pass the baton to someone like him who our clients already respect and appreciate,” said Charray Williams.

The St. Louis Business Journal and Marijuana Venture recognized Tyler as a 40 Under 40 Executive to Watch because of what he’s accomplished in food safety. In 2019, Tyler started a non-profit organization called Show Me Food Safety. This organization provides resources to small food manufacturers and growers to help improve their food safety practices, get on the shelves of local grocery stores, and improve the overall health of consumers. Tyler has also established himself as a thought leader in the hemp and cannabis space. In 2020, Williams founded Cannabis Safety & Quality (CSQ), the first cannabis certification program to meet GFSI Benchmarking Requirements (set to be benchmarked in 2023) in addition to ISO Requirements and regulatory requirements from seed to sale. Williams led CSQ as the Chief Technical Officer, helping over 100 cannabis facilities across the U.S. improve the safety & quality of their products.

While Williams leads the expansion of ASI and Kiwa in the Food, Feed & Farm sector in North America, his responsibilities as former Chief Technical officer will be passed along to Matt Regusci, CSQ’s newly appointed Technical Director. Williams will continue helping the cannabis industry provide safe products to consumers as a part of CSQ’s Technical Advisory Committee.

“Matt has played a critical role in the development of CSQ as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee since it all began. While I’ll always be involved in CSQ, I’m confident that with Matt’s extensive auditing background and expertise in compliance, he’ll quickly gain respect among key industry players, leading the company to success,” said Williams.

Regusci co-founded Azzule, an online compliance supply chain data management company, which is the parent company of PrimusGFS, a GFSI food safety standard. After Azzule, Regusci became an owner at WQS, a certification body that does thousands of audits annually across the Western Hemisphere. Regusci later stepped in as the Director of Growth and Public Relations at ASI, where he assisted in preparing and managing ASI’s recent merger with Kiwa Group.
