New Food and Beverage Product Launches, Sept. 13-17

From plant-based snacks and meals to a new dry-blend ingredient for infant formulas, here’s a look at some of this week’s food and beverage product launches. 

Jackson’s: Sweet Potato Chips

Formerly Jackson’s Honest, Jackson’s recently expanded its snack product line of sweet potato chips with new packaging. In addition to the company’s original Sea Salt with Coconut Oil chips, the lineup includes three new flavors made with avocado oil: Sea Salt, Spicy Tomatillo, and Carolina BBQ.

All varieties come in 1.5 oz ($1.89) and 5 oz ($4.49) sizes and are Non-GMO Project Verified, vegan, gluten-free, paleo, nut-free, and kosher.

PLANTSTRONG Foods: Broths, Chilis, and Stews

PLANTSTRONG Foods launched eight new plant-based products, including: 

All new broths, chilis, and stews are available exclusively at Whole Foods until November 1 and come in 16.9 fl oz packages ($29.99 per pack of 6).

Atlantic Natural Foods: TUNO™ Seafood Alternative

To improve taste and texture, Atlantic Natural Foods recently reformulated its TUNO™ seafood alternative products. These upgraded plant-based products better mirror the flavor and flakiness of conventional tuna.

The company also launched its shelf-stable, plant-based Loma Linda® Meal Starters and Solutions line with redesigned packaging. The product line includes several varieties of heat-and-serve meals, the newest of which are Greek Bowl, Hawaiian Bowl, and Ultimate Vegetarian Chili. All varieties are sustainability-sourced, gluten-free, and non-GMO.

Loma Linda® Meal Starters and Solutions come in 10 oz. pouches ($4.49), and TUNO™ seafood alternatives are available in 3 oz. pouches ($1.29) or 5 oz. cans ($1.69). The company will debut its new products at Natural Products Expo East 2021 (booth #957). 

Arla Foods Ingredients: Lacprodan® Premium MFGM-10

Arla Foods Ingredients released Lacprodan® Premium MFGM-10, a dry-blend version of the first MFGM (milk fat globule membrane) ingredient for the global infant formula market.

Benefits to dry-blending for manufacturers include reduced energy usage and production costs, increased flexibility, and more consistent quality. It also promotes product safety and eliminates the risk of Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria.
