“It is vital that we maintain these facilities and the products that are so commonplace in our homes. It starts somewhere, and this is where it starts—just knowing and understanding our meat production and the lifecycle of our hogs, coming from our pork producers. Then, how it is brought into this facility, processed, and packaged into bacon,” said Senator Ernst. “It’s good to know how it is processed and some of the challenges they [QFP] faced during COVID as well.”

In late 2020, QFP received Sigma’s Value Partner of the Year Award for its commitment to excellence and consistently providing quality products that assisted Sigma in being a Value Leader in the industry. QFP is a bacon supplier for Sigma’s Bar-S Foods brand. The award is only given out to one Sigma supplier annually, and 2020 was the first time that QFP had been named Value Partner of the Year.

“In light of all the challenges that the pandemic presents, we have an excellent group of individuals here that continues to do outstanding work, and I am proud of every one of our employees,” continued Kohler.
