Centrifugal Sifters Achieve 300% Higher Throughput than Flat Deck Sieves

Gericke Sifters Save Energy, Time, Floorspace

Somerset, NJ: GS Centrifugal Sifters from process equipment manufacturer Gericke USA, Somerset, NJ (www.gerickegroup.com), automatically separate powders, granules, and other dry, bulk materials into two product streams at a throughput rate up to 300 percent higher than common flat deck sieves on the same footprint using identical screens, materials, and cut points. Featuring a proprietary design with a rotating paddle assembly, the Gericke sifters direct fine particles through a mesh screen and divert oversized particles to the discharge using only centrifugal force and gravity. The centrifugal sifters typically achieve 99.9 percent efficiency versus 85 percent efficiency for flat deck sieves given the same inputs without requiring the vibration, shaking, or gyration that sieves typically require to process the material.

Proven for sifting flour, starch, sugar, gypsum, PVC, carbon black, and hundreds of other ingredients and materials, the GS Centrifugal Sifters include a clever removable basket assembly that invites safe, easy access, complete cleaning, and fast return to service. The rotary sieve comes in a choice of carbon steel or stainless steel construction with screen mesh sizes from 100 – 4,000 μm and throughput rates up to 120 tons/hr. Four standard models and custom designs are available to suit sanitary, non-hazardous, and hazardous ATEX environments.

The sifters may be tested in the company’s New Jersey test laboratory. Performance using customer-supplied materials may be verified, documented, and provided on video.
