ADA, MI — Ada’s own GTF Technologies is receiving statewide recognition as a finalist for the 2024 Innovation Excellence Award. The honor is part of the Manufacturing Excellence Awards, presented annually by the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA).
MMA will reveal and honor the winners of the 2024 Manufacturing Excellence Awards during a celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, in Lansing. GTF Technologies was selected as a finalist for Innovation Excellence due to its dedication and expertise in the industry.
GTF manufactures the revolutionary RENU™ Drying & Milling System, an impact flash drying technology that converts whole foods into powders in seconds. The technology is particularly beneficial for juicers and other food processors that dispose of high value side streams or byproducts. Nearly 90% of surplus in food processing is byproduct (peels, pomace, and stems), much of which is not only edible but often the most nutritious part of a fruit or vegetable. By immediately stabilizing these foods that would otherwise go to waste, they can be upcycled into food and beverage ingredients, pet foods, natural flavorings and colorants, and biodegradable packaging.
