New Food and Beverage Product Launches

Upcycled and health-focused beverages steal the show in this week’s roundup of new product launches.

The Spare Food Co.: Spare Tonic

The Spare Food Co. recently announced Spare Tonic, an effervescent, fermented beverage made with about 85-90% upcycled whey from Greek yogurt production, as well as fruit, spices, and local honey.

Spare Tonic is available in four flavors — Lemon & Ginger, Cucumber & Lime, Blueberry & Ginger, and Peach & Turmeric. Each variety is a good source of protein (7 grams per can), electrolytes, and vitamins B-12 and B-6.

The new beverages are available for $3.99 per 12 oz can in specialty food stores across New York and Connecticut. They can also be purchased online through Imperfect Foods, Farm to People, and FreshDirect.

Pure Green & Foodgod: Wellness Drinks

National wellness bar Pure Green teamed up with celebrity food influencer Foodgod to launch two new wellness beverages — Foodgod Tonic and Pink Grape cold pressed juice.

Foodgod Tonic is a wellness shot combining dragon fruit, lemon, ginger, and cayenne pepper.  Pink Grape cold pressed juice contains dragon fruit, grape, lemon, Himalayan salt, and 4 billion flora of probiotics. Both beverages are rich in antioxidants and help promote gut health.

A 2 oz bottle of Foodgod Tonic sells for $4, and a 12 oz bottle of Pink Grape cold pressed juice sells for $7. Both will be available at Pure Green locations starting February 16.
