New Hires and Promotions Bring 30 Years of Combined Experience in IT & Finance
QUINCY, Mass. (Sept. 17, 2025) — Bay State Milling Co., a 125-year-old company on a mission to create a better food system, has announced new additions and promotions to its team.
Chris Erickson joined the Bay State team in August as vice president of technology. Based in Minneapolis, Erickson will work with team members to deepen the company’s IT infrastructure and business applications, while developing long-term technology strategies to continue thinking into the future.
Erickson brings 20 years’ worth of experience leading technology and security organizations within the manufacturing, distribution and food/beverage realms. Most recently he worked as vice president of IT and cybersecurity for the Rahr Corporation.
“As a century-old company, Bay State Milling has seen a lot of change over the years,” Chief Financial Officer Alain Hanna said. “Part of our strength is continuing to learn, grow and innovate. This includes manufacturing infrastructure, of course, but also cybersecurity, data and analytics operations and deploying our resources in the most effective, efficient ways. By bringing Chris’ expertise into the mix, we are excited to see where we go next.”
Elidio Amaral has been promoted to the role of vice president of corporate finance and treasury. Amaral has worked with Bay State Milling since May 2015, previously serving as senior director of corporate finance.
“This promotion recognizes the significant work Elidio has done, and continues to do, to ensure our finance and treasury functions operate efficiently, with strong oversight and controls, while keeping the needs of our business and stakeholders top of mind,” Hanna said.
These strategic leadership moves underscore Bay State Milling’s commitment to building the infrastructure and financial stewardship needed to fuel innovation and growth. By investing in experienced leaders like Erickson and Amaral, the company is ensuring it remains resilient and forward-looking as it continues its mission to maintain a strong company and a better food system for generations to come.
