Hershey, Pennsylvania - October 15, 2021: Hershey candy bars displayed at Hershey Chocolate world retail store and tourist Attraction in Hershey, Pennsylvania

Hershey expects high single-digit sales growth for the Halloween and holiday seasons, but the company “will not be able to full meet consumer demand due to capacity restraints,” CEO Michele Buck said on the company’s Q2 earning call on July 27.

Buck noted that many of Hershey’s everyday and seasonal products are made on the same line, which means the company has “needed to balance production over the past several months to improve everyday on-shelf availability and build seasonal inventory at the same time.”

The company has been making “incremental” investments to increase production output and inventory levels, and Buck expects that by next year, Hershey will be better positioned to meet consumer demand.
