Sheldon, Iowa (July 29, 2019) – Rome Grinding Solutions, a manufacturer of industrial grinders and equipment for the meat, poultry, pet food, and related industries, is pleased to announce the addition of Kelley Newgard as Vice President of Operations, effective July 22, 2019.

Previously, Newgard was the office manager for a municipal water company and, since 2006, has worked in financial planning and insurance. A granddaughter of the founders, she was raised around the family business that she now joins and in 2016 she began serving on the Rome Grinding Solutions Board of Directors.

“Kelley’s transition into operations is a natural step to support and spur the growth of Rome Grinding Solutions,” said President Kate Rome. “Kelley has sharpened her knowledge about our business and the industries that we serve in her current role as Board Corporate Secretary.”

As Vice President of Operations, Newgard oversees purchasing, accounting, human resources, and general day-to-day operations, taking over responsibilities that primarily had been handled by the company president.

In addition to Newgard, Rome Grinding Solutions recently added Human Resources Director Kitty Campbell, Purchasing Director Krysten Haan and several new support staff members to its team. Also, long-time employee Craig Jongerius was transitioned from Vice President of Operations to the newly created Vice President of Production position that better defines his role in overseeing the entire manufacturing process.

“The changes build off of our success and growth in recent years to support a structure that best serves our customers and partners,” Rome said. “The personnel additions and realignment will free up my time to work on process improvement, new product development and growing the business.”
