Fortune and Food & Wine have teamed up for the third year in a row to identify women “entrepreneurs, activists, and idealists” who are transforming the ways we eat and drink.

From Harvard to Kroger, and from local farms to Kentucky distilleries, the twenty women identified are working on labeling laws, local partnerships, and food media education. They’re levelling playing fields and feeding more people sustainably with everything from spices to snack foods.
