Kellogg, Mars, PepsiCo, Ingredion, illycaffé, and Grupo Bimbo are among the 135 honorees on Ethisphere’s 2018 World Most Ethical Companies® list. PepsiCo is one of fifteen 12-time honorees, and Mars is one of fifteen first-time honorees.
Ethisphere has been honoring companies they recognize as driving positive change in their business communities since 2007. Companies are selected based on criteria that include leading authentically and committing to transparency, diversity, and inclusion, says Ethisphere’s CEO, Timothy Erblich.
Status isn’t the only thing companies gain from making it onto the World’s Most Ethical Companies list. Research shows that companies meeting the list’s criteria financially outperform their competitors. Diversity plays an especially critical role in financial success, says Erblich. “Research from McKinsey tells us companies with more diverse workforces outperform their peers.”
Erblich also points out that although their honorees are already outstanding leaders in the business community, the bar continues to rise. “So the responsibilities of the World’s Most Ethical Companies increase. We know they are up to the challenge.”
