Nestle edged out Procter & Gamble to claim the title of world’s biggest consumer packaged goods (CPG) company by market cap, according to GlobalData. The food and beverage company’s market cap value was $267.5 billion at the end of 2017, with revenue approaching $91 billion.
Rounding out the top five were #3 Anheuser-Busch InBev, #4 Coca-Cola, and #5 PepsiCo, which all held the same spots last year.
In total, 19 of the Global Top 25 are food and/or beverage companies, many of which are in the alcoholic beverage space, including Diageo, Heineken, and Constellation Brands.
