NEW CASTLE, Del., Jan. 4, 2022 – Fermentation is the next pillar in the alternative protein movement and the 2nd Annual Fermentation-Enabled Alternative Protein Innovation Summit, taking place January 18 – 20, 2022 in San Francisco, CA brings together key players from food and biotechnology industries to present how they are successfully scaling up and commercializing these next-generation alternative protein sources.
Dr. Bryan Tracy, CEO of Superbrewed Foods, will discuss how his company is ramping up to bring their whole food protein to the consumer market as part of a panel on the scalability and commercialization challenges of fermented proteins. He will be joined on the panel by Dr. Tim Geistlinger, Chief Scientific Officer at Perfect Day. Following his presentation, Dr. Tracy will speak at a panel discussion on overcoming the barriers to scaling up production, where he will be joined by Dr. Ranjan Patnaik, Chief Technology Officer at The EVERY Company. Both talks take place on January 18th, at 4:15 PM and 4:45 PM PT, respectively.
Superbrewed cultured protein is the world’s first anaerobically fermented whole food protein made from a microbe found in nature. Superbrewed has isolated a ‘protein specialist’ that converts plant fibers and starches into more than 85% complete microbial protein, the highest concentration of protein in a single microbe ever reported. It is a “whole food” protein because it is naturally high in essential vitamins and minerals, including branched chain amino acids, B-12, iron, phosphorus, magnesium and folate. Superbrewed cultured protein is also allergen-free, non-GMO and provides postbiotic benefits for gut health.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring this naturally fermented protein to consumers this spring, as it provides benefits no other natural plant or microbial protein can,” said Dr. Tracy. “I am looking forward to connecting and sharing with colleagues how we have overcome obstacles on our journey to create a superb ingredient that provides compelling nutritional benefits and is sustainably produced, so it is good for the planet.”
