Petit Pot and Women on Boards Project Continue to Increase Female Representation on Boards with the Appointment of Liz Carter to Board of Directors

This milestone board placement will aid in the growth of Petit Pot with their investment in production capabilities while bringing delightful French desserts to American homes

Emeryville, CA (July 19, 2022) Petit Pot, the fastest-growing brand of premium, organic refrigerated desserts in the U.S., announces today the addition of Liz Carter to its Board of Directors. Carter’s placement was supported through the company’s collaboration with the Women On Boards Project, a nonprofit founded to promote and increase the number of executive women serving on the Boards of early-stage consumer companies. Founded in 2020 by consumer industry leaders, the Women on Boards Project partners with investors at leading venture capital and private equity firms to place executive female leaders on the boards of their portfolio companies. Carter’s appointment to Petit Pot’s board is another beneficial step toward the appropriate representation of women on boards of private, growing companies.

Petit Pot, founded in 2014 by French pastry chef Maxime Pouvreau, was inspired by Pourveau’s childhood memories of baking in the kitchen alongside his mother in a French village. Noticing the lack of selection in the dessert aisle in American grocery stores, Pouvreau and Petit Pot have created classic treats such as dark chocolate and pistachio pots de crème, as well as exciting new flavors such as orange blossom rice pudding and plant-based oat milk chocolate dessert, that are bringing sweet smiles to households across the country. Recently, the company made a significant investment in a state-of-the-art production line from France, allowing Petit Pot to drive product excellence, increase capacity and accelerate innovation efforts for years to come.

“Liz’s drive and energy for transitioning a brand from a leader in the natural channel to mass market are phenomenal,” says Pouvreau. “Her deep experience in the food and beverage industry makes her an irreplaceable asset and member of the Petit Pot team. We’re also thrilled that we are able to support the Women on Boards Project’s mission to close the gender gap on CPG boards, and we will continue to prioritize diversifying voices on our board.”

Carter brings substantial experience as a senior executive in the consumer-packaged goods industry, specializing in the food and beverage and dietary supplements categories. A highly-driven leader, Carter’s expertise spans across creating long-term and short-term plans, developing policies, and supporting the overall brand goal by taking small brand names and generating more than $100 million in sales. She has worked with brands such as Humm Kombucha, 5-hour ENERGY, Perfect Snacks, Chomps, and currently holds the position of CFO at Goli Nutrition Inc.

“Joining Petite Pot as an advisor is an exciting opportunity for me to support a passionate team bringing a decadent and delicious French dessert to American homes, without ever stepping foot on a plane,” said Liz Carter. “As a working mom, I live for the smile on my family’s faces when they enjoy delightful treats, and always feel good knowing each product is made with organic and local ingredients.”

“The Women on Boards Project is eager to support a brand with a mission to not only create delicious French desserts but recognizes the importance of having the right women on your board,” said Cassie Burr, Executive Director of the Women on Boards Project. “Liz’s experience in the consumer packaged goods space is impressive and we are delighted to see her placement assist in the brand’s future success.”
