Zotefoams Appoints Neil Court-Johnston President of MuCell Extrusion LLC

Zotefoams, world leaders in cellular material technology, has announced the promotion of Neil Court-Johnston to the role of President of MuCell Extrusion LLC, focusing on the development of ReZorceĀ® mono-material barrier packaging and MuCellĀ® microcellular foaming technologies.

Neil joined Zotefoams in 2020 as Vice President of Strategy, EMEA bringing over 30 yearsā€™ experience in production and packaging processes across the food and beverage and FMCG sectors, He sits on the Council of The British Plastics Federation.

Zotefoams is making significant progress on its ReZorce mono-material barrier packaging solution, produced using MuCell technology that foams polymers during extrusion. Industry scale-up trials are under way, offering society the prospect of a truly circular option for barrier materials using existing recycling infrastructure. ReZorce is a truly pioneering packaging solution and an alternative to current mixed material options, which are difficult or impossible to recycle.

ā€œOur technology enables significant environmental benefits, not least halving the carbon footprint and water/energy usage of a beverage carton,ā€ says Neil. ā€œBy infusing atmospheric gases, we reduce both the material content and costs for the end user. We are also partnering household brands on a world-first fully circular food pouch containing 30% recycled materialā€.

Zotefoams Group CEO, David Stirling, adds, ā€œThis appointment underpins our strategic intent to further improve product performance and sustainability and very much look forward to Neilā€™s leadership delivering the benefits of ReZorce Circular Packaging to customers who recognise that ā€“ from both ethical and legislative perspectives ā€“ current solutions are no longer unsustainable.ā€
