3-A SSI Announces Multiple Revision Projects to 3-A Sanitary Standards

McLEAN, Virginia – As an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Standards Developing Organization (SDO), 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. is required make public announcements anytime there is a proposal for a new 3-A Sanitary Standards or 3-A Accepted Practices or reaffirmation, revision or withdrawal of existing 3-A Sanitary Standards or 3-A Accepted Practices. Announcements shall also be made to the member organizations of 3-A SSI, FDA Milk Safety Branch, USDA Dairy Programs, industry trade press, and other interested parties to give the opportunity for participation by all directly and materially affected persons anytime there is a proposed revision of a 3-A Sanitary Standard or Accepted PracticeThe 3-A Sanitary Standards and Accepted Practices define hygienic design requirements to ensure the cleanability and inspectability of food processing equipment.

On January 3, 2023, the following six new revision projects were referred our Working Groups for review:

·        Project B-21-02-A, Revision of 3-A Sanitary Standard for Separators and Clarifiers, Number 21-02

·        Project B-26-06-A, Revision of 3-A Sanitary Standard for Sifters for Dry Products, Number 26-06

·        Project B-71-01-A, Revision of 3-A Sanitary Standard for Italian-Type Pasta Filata Style Cheese Moulders, Number 71-01

·        Project B-72-01-A, Revision of 3-A Sanitary Standard for Italian-Type Pasta Filata Style Moulded Cheese Chillers, Number 72-01

·        Project B-74-07-A, Revision of 3-A Sanitary Standard for Sensors and Sensor Connections and Fittings, Number 74-07

·        Project B-78-03-A, Revision of 3-A Sanitary Standard for Spray Cleaning Devices Intended to Remain in Place, Number 78-03

·        Project B-102-00-A, Revision of 3-A Sanitary Standard for Unitized Equipment for Automated Milking Installations, Number 102-00
