Kraft Heinz has teamed up with Oprah Winfrey to create Mealtime Stories, a new line of RTE refrigerated meals. According to the press release, the mission of the new venture is “to create a new line of food that will make real, nutritious products more accessible to everyone.”
The company plans to develop, manufacture, and sell the meals in the United States and donate 10% of the profits to charities that work to eliminate hunger. More information will be announced later this year.
Kraft Heinz is the world’s 5th largest food and beverage company, which owns numerous food brands including Weight Watchers Smart Ones. Oprah Winfrey is a multi-media entrepreneur who joined with Weight Watchers in 2015, adding $700 million to its stock value in two days. Oprah has never been shy about her struggles with food and weight loss, and this latest joint venture could prove a winning combination. Like peanut butter and jelly.
