According to Food Safety News, another 130 products have now been recalled in an incident that started earlier this month after Listeria was found in cheese sold at a Tennessee retail outlet.
No illnesses have been reported. However, it can take up to 70 days for symptoms to appear.
The ripple effect is being felt across the industry, as many secondary products (like RTE sandwiches and salads) contain the affected products. Sargento has already terminated its relationship with Deutsch Kase Haus, the supplier at the center of the problem.
