This week is packed with new snack and protein bars, plant-based innovations, and the return of a freeze-dried favorite.
Wholly Veggie: Mozzarella Style Sticks with Truffle
Wholly Veggie just launched its new Mozzarella Style Sticks with Truffle, joining the brand’s line of dairy-free cheese sticks.
The new dairy-free appetizer is the first of its kind, made with gluten-free upcycled cauliflower, vegan mozzarella, and natural truffle flavor. The cheese sticks bake in minutes, and each box comes with marinara dipping sauce. Like the brand’s other products, they are vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and non-GMO.
Wholly Veggie’s latest addition to the frozen aisle will be available at Target stores starting in May, as well as the brand’s website.
SNICKERS Ice Cream: Bryce Cream Bar
SNICKERS Ice Cream, a Mars brand and NFL sponsor, is partnering with NFL draft prospect Bryce Young to launch a limited-edition SNICKERS Bryce Cream Bar.
Inside the Bryce Young-inspired wrapper, the bar is the same as the original SNICKERS Ice Cream bar, featuring creamy peanut butter ice cream, smooth caramel and crunchy peanuts, and a chocolate shell.
From now until May 1, fans can enter for a chance to win six limited-edition SNICKERS Bryce Cream Bars. The Bryce Cream Bar will also be available on a first come, first served basis at select locations within the Kansas City, MO and Tuscaloosa, AL areas.
American Outdoor Products: Astronaut Ice Cream
After a brief hiatus, American Outdoor Products announced the return of Astronaut Ice Cream freeze-dried fruits (strawberries, cinnamon apples, peaches, and bananas) and ice cream sandwiches (in Vanilla and Neapolitan flavors).
Astronaut Ice Cream uses lyophilization, or freeze-drying, to remove 98% of the original water content and create a crunchy, creamy treat that’s ready to eat and doesn’t need to be refrigerated.
The products are now available for purchase through the Astronaut Ice Cream’s new website, as well as at select museums, theme parks, outdoor retail stores, and other locations. Ice cream sandwiches are available for $4.99 for a single sandwich and $59.99 for a 12-pack. A 6-Pack of freeze-dried fruits sells for $23.99. Bulk case options for both products are also available.
Signature Wafer & Chocolate Co.: SKIPPY Peanut Butter Wafer Bars
Signature Wafer & Chocolate Co. partnered with the makers of SKIPPY peanut butter to create its new SKIPPY Peanut Butter Wafer Bars in three varieties — Natural Peanut Butter Spread and Chocolate Fudge, Creamy Peanut Butter & Chocolate Fudge, and P.B. & J, Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly Coated.
All three flavors contain 6 grams of protein per bar and no high fructose corn syrup.
The new bars are now available at Costco stores in the Northwest for the suggested price of $5.49 per 6-count and $11.49 per 22-count.
Bloom Nutrition: Protein Bars
Bloom Nutrition announced the launch of its Bloom Protein Bars, marking the wellness brand’s debut into the food and snacking category.
The protein bars are made with Bloom’s Whey Isolate Protein and are available in four flavors — Blueberry Crumble, Raspberry Cheesecake, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Cookies & Cream. The new product boasts less than 200 calories, just 2 grams of sugar, and 15 grams of protein per serving.
The limited-edition bars are available exclusively on the brand’s website and on Amazon in single-flavor packs of 12 for $29.99 and variety packs of 12 for $32.99.
ONE Brands: Peanut Butter & Jelly Protein Bar
ONE Brands is adding a new limited-edition product to its line of protein bars — ONE Peanut Butter & Jelly.
The new bar offers the classic, familiar taste of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with 20 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar.
Peanut Butter & Jelly bars are available nationwide in 4-count boxes and 12-count trays now through the end of August. Consumers can find them at Target and specialty retailers like Vitamin Shoppe and GNC, with rollout to Amazon and Walmart coming soon.
