As Hurricane Harvey pummels parts of Texas and Louisiana, corporations and individuals are stepping up to help with the relief efforts. Many food and beverage companies have announced contributions, everything from cash to meals.
Here’s the list of food companies who’ve announced donations so far:
- Amazon Inc. and Whole Foods Market are matching up to $1 million in donations to the American Red Cross. Whole Foods customers can contribute at checkout. Amazon has created a wish list for people to purchase items for those affected by the hurricane.
- The Kroger Co. Foundation is donating $100,000 to the Houston Food Bank.
- Texas grocery store H-E-B has set up hurricane relief donations in the amounts of $1, $3, and $5 for customers at checkout. Additionally, H-E-B pledged $100,000 to Harvey victims and has also sent out disaster response vehicles, which include mobile kitchens and pharmacies.
- Bill Miller BBQ is donating 400 meals.
- Coca Cola is donating 25,000 cases of beverages to those affected. It is also giving $1 million to the American Red Cross and matching up to $100,000 in employee donations.
- Kellogg is giving $100,000 to Feeding America in addition to 31 million servings of product donation toward relief efforts.
- PepsiCo is donating $1 million to the American Red Cross.
- Ready Pac is sending 24,000 chicken salads to those affected by the hurricane.
- AB InBev is donating 155,000 cans of water.
- Starbucks is giving $250,000 in addition to funds from their employee match program.
- McDonald’s is donating $1 million to the American Red Cross and also matching up to $250,000 from employee donations. Open Houston-area McDonald’s are serving first responders for free.
- MillerCoors is donating 50,000 cans of water and $25,000.
- Nestlé is donating more than 1.3 million bottles of water.
- Alimentation Couche-Tard is giving $100,000 dollars to the American Red Cross, in addition to enabling customers to donate at checkout. The company is also matching $150,000 in an internal campaign for employees affected by the hurricane.
- Feed the Children has received donations from corporate partners StarKist and Niagara Bottling to help in relief efforts.
- USANA True Health Foundation is giving $130,000, which will amount to about 15,000 meals for those in need.
- 26 Wisconsin cheese companies, through the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, have donated nearly 20,000 pounds of cheese and 300 pounds of butter to the Houston Food Bank.
- Agropur inc. is donating $25,000 toward hurricane relief and a truckload of biPro® protein water, as well as coordinating to deliver Wisconsin cheese and butter to Texas.
- Hardie’s Fresh Foods has donated three truckloads of food to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey survivors, in addition to setting out food donation boxes at all of their locations.
- Apio, Inc./Eat Smart® is donating 24,000 salads to the Houston Food Bank.
- Mission Foods is donating 26 tons of food through the Houston Food Band and the American Red Cross.
- Giant Food is donating $25,000 worth of products and $50,000 cash to the American Red Cross. Additionally, Giant Food stores are running donation drives for customers to contribute to the relief efforts.
- The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI) will match up to $100,000 through its website and will also be donating through its annual fundraising event, PACK gives BACK™. Additionally, attendees of PACK EXPO can donate to hurricane relief at PMMI’s booth during the trade show.
